Annual
One of the oldest cottage flowers, references common in 13th century literature. Arrived in North America with first European settlers. Cheerful single and double daisy-like flowers in shades of orange, apricot, gold, lemon and buff on 18" plants. Petals used for centuries to make soothing skin salve.
To grow: Full sun, fertile soil. Plant seeds 1" deep in early spring. Self-sows readily. Deadhead regularly to promote flowering and shear back in mid-summer to encourage a fresh new crop of flowers right through to November on the West Coast.
