A very old bean believed to have been brought to England by French Huguenots, it was also grown for commercial canning in Ontario in the early 1900s. A very productive, early and disease resistant bush bean. Can be used as a fresh snap bean when young, for pickling, or dried for soup.
To grow: Sow mid-May to mid-June, 2-3” apart in well-drained, warm soil in full sun. Plant at 3 week intervals for a long harvest. Pick regularly as pods ripen to increase yield. (80 days)
